Purpose
The FFPL Board is committed to fostering a psychologically healthy and safe workplace, in keeping with the FFPLTC’s stated values of accountability and inclusivity. It is in everyone’s common interest to promote and enhance a working relationship consistent with the principles of mutual respect, confidentiality, and cooperation.

Definitions
- Psychological or mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”
- Psychological safety is “the absence of harm, and/or threat of harm, to mental well-being that a worker might experience”
- Psychologically healthy and safe workplace is “a workplace that promotes workers’ psychological well-being and actively works to prevent harm to worker psychological health including preventing harm in negligent, reckless, or intentional ways”

Psychological Health and Safety Management System (PHSMS)
- The FFPL Board and Staff will establish, promote, and maintain a PSHMS in accordance with the CSA Group's Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace national standard of Canada
- The PHSMS will be written and implemented by the CEO with input from staff
- The PHSMS will be evaluated on an annual basis to ensure its ongoing effectiveness. The evaluation process will include staff input.
