Interlibrary Loan

What types of material can be requested?

Interlibrary Loan will obtain library material not owned by or missing from the FFPLTC collection. A circulating copy of a book or other material may be requested on Interlibrary Loan if the copy in the FFPLTC's collection is for use in library (reference) only.

All library materials may be requested on Interlibrary Loan, subject to availability and the policies of lending libraries. Generally, audio-visual materials, such as videos and CD's, are not available for Interlibrary Loan.

Collection Development

The FFPLTC's collections support the FFPLTC’s mission to stimulate imagination and inquiry, through literature and reference, for culture and commerce.

We would like to build a balanced collection to serve the community of Fort Frances.

Before making a request, please check our library catalogue to make sure we do not already carry it. You can make a request by phone, email or in-person for an item the Library does not currently have in our collection.

Book Return

A book drop is available on the South side of the library to the West of the entrance doors. Please feel free to use it to return items during and after business hours.

Self-Check

We have two Self-Check units available in the FFPLTC. One is located near the Circulation Desk, and another is located in the Children’s Area.

An active FFPLTC Library Card is required to use a Self-Check unit.

Bike Lock Lending

Bike locks are available to use at the library. They are not meant for circulation.

There are bike racks at the entrance to the library and a bike rack available to the west of the book return for patrons to use.

Urban Pole Lending

Urban poling combines the upper body techniques similar to cross country skiing with the lower body technique of regular walking. It turns your walk into a full-body workout!
A pair of urban poles can be checked out for a period of 3 weeks with a valid library card!

Home Delivery

If you are home bound and would like to have library items delivered, our friendly volunteers are at the ready.

It is required that you have a Fort Frances Public Library card and live in Fort Frances.

We also regularly deliver items to Rainycrest Long Term Care, Senior Citizens' Manors.

Please call us for more information.

TackleShare

Borrowing Equipment

Fishing rods and tackle boxes are available to sign out for free from the FFPLTC, with a valid library card.

Participating anglers simply sign out a rod and reel, as well as an assortment of tackle in the same way that they would borrow library material.

Equipment is available for a one week period.

Fishing and Licensing Information

As a tackle share site, the library is not responsible for ensuring a borrower's licensing.

The following resource provides information on regulations, licensing, and fishing with kids:
